The Borg Collective is a Horde guild on the Tanaris, US server of World of Warcraft. We are a levelling, training and social guild focused on teaching new players and enjoying our time on the game as we work our way to level 85.

The one simple rule is that we keep to ourselves in "The Collective", the channel that was made for us. We're essentially guests on the server and have been told that if we bother the other guests, we won't be allowed to remain.

Guild Quest! - "Hidden Enemies"

Our first monthly guild quest was announced on September 18th, 2010. It is a PvE goal for the Quest "Hidden Enemies", which begins with Thrall at Level 9 and concludes with the defeat of two enemies in Ragefire Chasm (RFC), at which time Thrall rewards the character with a Weapon of Orgrimmar in gratitude. This chain was the least-completed RFC quest in WoW history even before the Battleground Queueing system was initiated, because chain quests cannot be shared beyond their first part and not many people explored their way to Thrall in their early career. The quest is not obviously a "dungeon" quest until Part 4, leaving many feeling by the time they find the first part that it's not worth completing. It is for these reasons that this quest chain was selected for our contest, to help our members learn the value of quest chains, of succeeding where few do, and of the great rewards (both personal and material) that can come from seeing the chain through to completion.

The goal of the contest is to complete the Hidden Enemies chain, and prove it's completion in one of two ways:
• Open Trade with an Officer and show the XXX of Orgrimmar to him or her.


• Email Powderkeg a screenshot of you completing the last stage of the quest


The reward for doing this is 1 Gold Piece, payable either by trade or by mailbox within 96 hours of the proof being verified. As a bonus, a total of 10 Gold Pieces (2g each) will be paid to a party of 5 Guild Members who run through RFC together for the purpose of helping at least 2 Guild Members complete the quest chain. This will require the additional proof of an emailed screenshot of the party standing victorious over the body of the fallen demon in RFC. The rules of the contest are as follows:

• The contest ends on October 18th, 2010.


• All members of the RFC party must be guild members in good standing at the time of verification to receive the bonus.


• Two members of the RFC party must be completing the Hidden Enemies chain and declare to the verifying officer that they were part of a guild run when verifying their completion of the chain in order for the party to receive the bonus.


• The decisions of the staff are final.


• Currently 100g has been put aside to pay bounties. If you guys break the bank, there may be a delay in processing rewards. :)


• Remember, the point of this exercise is FUN and LEARNING. Try to keep those things in mind when attempting this.
